What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: I am 47 and my MRI showed minor chronic microvascular ischemic changes. I also have hypertension. What does that mean?

Most common reason are precisely conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes so you have an additional reason to pay attention to your blood pressure values and get tested for diabetes if you haven't been already. Also should quit smoking in case you do.

Thank you. I have one further question. My doctor ordered the MRI because of increased memory loss. Would this have any thing to do with MRI findings?

That's a good question. It shouldn't be causing any memory impairment. The report speaks of minor changes and anyway microvascular ischemic changes usually involve areas not influencing much memory.
Only in the case of advanced widespread changes could that be the cause.
