What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: I have had an MRI done. I have L5L6 and S1 nerve damage. Compressed nerves. But I am also SUFFERING from a chronic state of sexual arousal. Iam a 64 year old unmarried sexually inactive woman. I am miserable.

MRI was done because of persistent pain tingling on exterior right lower leg. I also felt numbness in my right foot especially my toes.I had acupuncture which relieved that
The sexual problems started after the acupuncture about 5 months ago.
The urges come at relaxed times. Sitting, driving especially on gravel roads.
I am not married. I do not have a partner. I do not arouse myself. I just want my life back.

Based on your clinical history,I would like to highlight some of the important points-
1)L5-S1 radiculopathy is unlikely to cause persistent sexual arousal,but involvement of S2,S3 and S4 radicles may manifest like this sometimes.So,it may be a possibility that degenerative changes of spine are also compressing some of these nerve radicles too,thus causing the symptoms.
So,what we can do the best here is to continue treatment for L-S radiculopathy.Medicines like pregabalin,methylcobalamin and effective physiotherapy exercises must be continued sincerely.Physiotherapy exercises with proper technique are the mainstay here.PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.
2)Surely,even I agree to the fact that you need to consult a Gynecologist as some of the female hormonal changes may be contributing to this syndrome.
3)Psychotherapy may also prove to be effective.A psychiatrist's opinion may be of value.

I have lost one kidney to renal cell cancer. It has been 10 years. I worry about metastatic cancers. Could renal cell cancer take up residence in my cervix or spine or both?

The surgery was done in Oct 2004 at Swedish hospital in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX USA
The follow up was monitored by XXXXXXX Hospital in Minot ND.
The oncologist is now retired. It has been 10 years.
No obvious symptoms. I was diagnosed with Acute bronchial asthma 2 years ago.
Have used an advair inhaler since.
Love having relative good health. Try to stay busy. This is an exasperating situation. I associate with warm and wonderful Christian friends who are morally clean and have a strong desire to stay that way. This uninvited sensuality has been a very uncomfortable environment for me. I have been single and celibate since 1990. Up until this episode I have not given intimacy much thought. This has been a shocking invasion of my personal space. I do have some physical discomfort at times, mostly in my lower back and hips.
The follow up was monitored by XXXXXXX Hospital in Minot ND.

Meanwhile,continue treatment for L-S radiculopathy as I suggested above along with regular physiotherapy exercises.That is the probable cause of lower back and hips pain.
