What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Following an MRI ny neurologist believes i may have a tethered spinal cord because of my thoracic discs bulging. Can you give your opinion on the attached images.
Not significant cord involvement is seen.
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxx,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.
I have gone through the MRI images which you have attached. There are of course some disc bulges in the thoracic region, however, they do not appear to be significant enough to cause any significant cord compression. Further, axial sections will make it clear whether, traversing nerve roots are compressed or not.
Though, I have gone through your MRI report posted in another query and it does not mention about any significant nerve radicles or cord involvement. So, with these much details, there is nothing substantial to say that it may be tethered cord syndrome.
I shall be glad to have you in follow-up and provide further clarification on it.
Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
