What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Hi, My name is XXXXXXX I have had two low back surgeries, 1st one was a diskectomy in 2001. I had a re-injury in 2003 while gardening. I have DDD in all lumbar vertebrae. My surgeon on the 2nd. surgery said my bones were soft and one of the screws during the fusion (L5 S1), did not stay in place. I am 62 yrs. old.
I had an MRI in 2008 showed some narrowing at the lower lumbar are. I asked My MD if I could have a bone density test, but he said my bones looked fine in 2008. He told me soft bones means that I have osteoporosis, so just keep taking Calcium & Vit. D. Is there any further treatment that can help reverse osteoporosis? I seem to be having more increased pain than usual in the very low back. Thank you for any input! XXXXXXX Harada
