My Mother is having Left side Shoulder/Back Pain from past 5 months.i'm not sure what we should do for this.Could you please suggest the remedies and root cause for the same.
Recently I have done MRI Scan of shoulders results of the same has been attached for review
My mother is having sugar from XXXXXXX 12 years just wanted to confirm if sugar is more whether we would get pain in back .HBa1c is around 9 as attached in the report.
Could you please review the report and let us know if anything is causing the Left side Shoulder/Back Pain.
Physiotherapy, Blood sugar control
Detailed Answer:
Hi Subramanya
Thanks for the query
I have read your query and reviewed the report.
It appears that there is an incomplete shoulder muscle tear.
This is the reason for the pain.
Usually high blood sugar can cause Frozen shoulder which can cause shoulder arms upper back pain.
I suggest that she get physiotherapy for the upper back pain and Rotator cuff strengthening with Theraband for the shoulder. It is important to consult a good Physiotherapist for the same.
Blood sugar is not being controlled properly that's why Hba1c result is high. It should be less than 6.
Blood sugar needs to be controlled. With muscle strengthening, the tear can heal. Repeat the MRI after 6 months to see the improvement.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Dr. Aashish Raghu

As mentioned by it is incomplete shoulder muscle tear does it cured by itself after doing Physiotherapy sessions or require any surgery?
do we need to take any medications along with it.?
How many Physiotherapy sessions would be recommended in this case.
Based upon the report does it tell it is Frozen shoulder or arthritis.?
as sugegsted by we would take MRI scan after 6 months also will control the sugar.
Physiotherapy for 6 months. MRI showing only Rotator cuff tear
Detailed Answer:
Physiotherapy can help to cure a partial tear such is why you need to repeat the MRI scan after 6 months to see the response.
Usually physiotherapy, should be done once a week for 6 months.
Report is in favour of Rotator cuff tear, without doxycycline signs of Frozen shoulder or arthritis.
