What Does My X-ray Report Indicate?
Question: chest xray shows 'bronchovescular markings are prominent ' plus mildly enlarged cardiac shadow. suffering from dry cough for quite some time no medicine seems to be effective. kindly tell what to do.

After reading your details I would like to tell you that prominent bronchovesicular markings can be due to Following reasons
1. Respiratory tract infection
2. Allergy/Bronchial asthma
3. Smoking
4. Cardiac pathologies in which pulmonary pressure increases
So I would like to suggest you to look for any triggering cause of your cough like if you are getting exposed to dust or any other particular occupational material due to which cough is not going away, if you have allergy to some particular food stuff, if you smoke then you need to stop it. If you are not able to find any suggestive cause then it's advisable to personally consult a chest physician and get yourself properly evaluated before the problem becomes chronic.
Also get one sputum for AFB done to rule out pulmonary TB.
For your enlarged cardiac shadow on x ray I would like to suggest you to get one echocardiography done.

patient is known case of HTN,DM,LVEF is25%, echo has already been done and angiography is suggested . looking to patient condition not prepared for any invasive procedure. kindly advise if we could continue on medication only. shall be obliged to have your valued personal opinion in the matter. many thanks for your valued advice. last querry; morning bp is 55/90 which causes considerable ghabrahat and condition remains miserable for almost 2 hours. cough is continuous problem. what is way out of this situation. anxiously waiting your advice in the matter.
