I can understand your concern.
So we should rule out heart failure in her case.
Pro BNP is more reliable than plain BNP in detecting heart failure.
Edema feet can also seen in heart failure.
Please let me know
1. Is she having breathlessness on lying down? Is she having chest pain?
2. Has she ever undergone 2d echo?

I can understand your concern.
So, her cardiomegaly is mostly due to long standing hypertension.
Yes, excess fluid can be seen on chest x ray as bilateral pleural effusion or prominent hilar markings or fissures.
Please send me x ray film so that I can guide you whether she is having fluid in the lungs or not.

Dont have film. But gp said xray report does not state fluid but enlarged heart .

So what can be done re enlarged heart ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Drkaushal85 (23 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Strict control of blood pressure is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Treatment is based on 2d echo report.
If 2d echo is normal then nothing should be done extra, just strict control of hypertension is needed.
But if 2d echo is showing reduced heart function then diuretics should be added.
So get done 2d echo first.
What about ecg?
Has she ever undergone ecg?
