What Does My X-ray Result Report Indicate?

I am a 58 years male with sound health. I am attaching the xray of my teeth. I have the following questions.
1. The tooth marked 1 had root canal done around 3 weeks back. Every thing is OK at the moment. I would like to know if the minor infection seen at the bottom of the tooth will go off after how many days ? Has the treatment done properly ?
2. Root canal was done in the adjacent tooth 6 to 7 years back and ceramic cap used. As per the dentist there is a severe infection in this tooth and suggest re-treatment. I am not feeling any pain or discomfort at the moment. Refer to the zone marked 2. I would like to know if carrying out a re-treatment the infection will subside ? How long will it take the infection to subside ? Is the infection a dental abscess ? Why am I not feeling any pain f this is a severe infection ?
Thanks for your answers,

Infection can be relieved with antibiotics..
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for the query..
As per your complain in your recent Root Canal treated tooth there is very negligible infection left and it is nothing to be worried as it will gradually resolve in a month..
But in that tooth the root canal filling is not properly done and not reaching till the root ends which increases the chance of re-infection in tooth..
In the second marked area there is definitely abscess formation but if there is no pain then you can first take a course of Antibiotics and hopefully the infection can subside with antibiotics alone..
So as of now you need a course of antibiotics and no other treatment is to be done..
Please revert back with further queries..
Regards..

Thanks for your comments.
The recent RC tooth has not been capped yet and the final treatment done yt. As per the treating doctor he wanted to treat the adjacent tooth first and then go for final capping in the tooth marked 1.
- If I use antibiotics how can it be ascertained that there is improvement in the infection ? By repeated xray ? Can that infection cause some minor ear ache ?
- How long do I have to take the anti-biotics to be able to see perceptible improvement in the tooth ?
- Can you prescribe some anitibiotics ? I am not allergic to any medicine. Bur amoxycillin is likely to cause some loose motion like symptoms
- With the present condition can I go ahead and cap the present tooth. Will it cause any problem if it is decided to go for repeat RCT in the infected tooth ?

Earache can be due to tooth infection..
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome back..
If you take antibiotics then after a week you can get an x ray done to ascertain of the Infection is improving or not..
You need to take antibiotics for atleast a week..
Pain in ear can be a radiating pain from infected tooth and in that case you have no other option rather than getting re-Root canal treatment done..
Antibiotics are prescription drugs and you should ask your dentist to prescribe..
However Augmentin can be taken in this condition..
No, you should not proceed for capping of the present tooth and wait for infection to subside..
Please write back for further queries..

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics can reach site of infection via blood..
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome back..
As per your queries I mean that let the infection of the previously treated tooth as well as present tooth subside, so that you can proceed with capping without a chance of getting the caps removed, in case if you need re-root canal treatment of the tooth..
Also antibiotics can reach site of infection via blood so do not worry as the antibiotics can help in resolving infection below the root tips of the tooth..
Please write back for more queries..
In case if your query is resolved please Give a Five Star Rating and write a Positive Review as a token of appreciation..
Hope this information helps..

- When you said that "you should not proceed for capping for the present tooth and wait for infection to subside" did you mean I need to wait for the infection to subside and then go for permanent capping of the present tooth ? Pls confirm
- Also since the abscess at the root of the tooth where a root canal is done how far oral antibiotics will be effective ?
