Round cell tumor
Detailed Answer:
Hi Npbala, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. Round cell tumor of thoracic vertebrae means any of these tumors like Ewing's sarcoma, peripheral neuroectodermal tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, synovial sarcoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
These kind of tumor are usually chemotherapy and radiotherapy responsive. Prognosis will depend upon spread of tumor at the time of diagnosis. You should get her PET scan done to rule out any spread.
Surgery can be done if focal tumor. Complete surgical excision signifies good prognosis.
In cases of spine, common round cell tutors are either Ewing or Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. You should consult neurosurgeon. He will guide you further.
If you have any doubt, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
