What Does My Biopsy Test Result Indicate?
Question: Hi doctor I'm in Montreal now and they diagnos me having carcinoma in stu in the surface of my right tongue this is my biopsy right anterior lateral tongue biopsy squamous mucosa with high grade keratinizing dysphasia no evidence of invasion 6 level s examined am I supposed to have an operation
Brief Answer:
this is precancerous lesion
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
This biopsy is suggestive of a precancerous lesion but there is no evidence of XXXXXXX cancer. If left to itself, around 10% progress to XXXXXXX cancer over time.
Mostly we recommend excision of the area, either by conventional knife surgery or by laser or cryotherapy. After that regular follow up.
If this has already been done in you, then no further surgery is required.
Hope this helps.

which type of operation is faster ln healing and what you meant by cryotherapy because I think my Doctor choose an aggressive way using the knife and leaving me along time finishing his vacation and I want to go home
Brief Answer:
laser is bit faster
Detailed Answer:
Cryotherapy involves freezing the cells by extreme cold temperature.
Knife surgery is perfectly fine. You can certainly go home and get in touch with doctor there. No need to wait for the doctor to return from vacation.
