default
Posted on Thu, 12 Oct 2017
Question: Otherwise healthy, lean 38-year-old male. I have my yearly physical coming up in a week and out of curiosity I have been monitoring my blood sugar over the past couple of weeks. My results/averages are attached. I am just curious to get another opinion on these before I talk to my doctor. Fasting isaveraging about 100 but two hours post meal I at about 100 again and it seems to drop back into the 90's in the later part of the day. Also took to home A1c tests, one came back 5.0 and the second 5.3.

Brief Answer:
About blood glucose results:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone through your concern and the attached report carefully.
The blood sugar you reported is within the normal ranges.

The postprandial normal ranges are up to 140 mg/ dl, furthermore, HbA1c is normal, so there is nothing to get worried about.

Fasting levels higher than postprandial, means that the liver tends to produce more glucose during the night and you will need to keep monitoring fasting glucose and HbA1c regularly (once a year).

For the moment the values are normal.

Hope the information will help. Feel free to ask further.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
