What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi doctor my mother is type 2 diabetic and recently has been diagnosed with hypertension her systolic pressures are raised than diastolic she had an ECHO and ECG recently ECHo showed that there is a problem in relaxation of left ventricles, her SGOT is 45U/L and SGPT is 50 U/L total bilirubin is 0.4 mg/dl her creatinen level is 1.0 mg/dl her uric acid is also raised, total cholesterol is 189 triglycerides is 189 mg/dl she is taking glucophage 850 mg twice, concor 5 plus OD. She has been taking NSAIDs from last 7 months for her osteoporosis... She is having abdominal pain and nausea from last few weeks.. Kindly suggest what preventions should we take to lower SGOT and SGPT levels and creatinine levels.. Her HBA1c is 7.0.. Non smoker non drinker.. kindly suggest me a diet which she can eat in this condition..

As we have already discussed,findings are not very serious.Many findings are expected in her age.ECHO findings suggests problem in relaxation of left ventricle means there is mild diastolic dysfunction.It is not a serious condition and this is manageable.
Major findings is mildly raised SGPT,it may be due to many reasons.She may need few more investigations like viral markers,ANA factors and ultrasound of abdomen.I advise to take tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months.
Nausea and abdominal pain may be due to NSAIDs related gastritis.Patient may take proton pump inhibitors like tablet pantoprazole 40 mg once daily half hour before food in the morning for six weeks.
She should avoid fatty food and diet containing high purine(include red meat etc).
She can take lot of fruits and vegetables in her diet and should go for walk.
