High WBC count suggestive of infection, cancer/ leukemia unlikely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
A white blood cell (WBC) count above the reference biological interval is not always due to cancer or leukemia.
The most common cause of elevated WBC count is infection.
The WBC count in case of cancer or leukemia is usually very high.
You have marginally increased WBC count with a predominance of neutrophils.
This report implies that probably you had a focus of infection (bacterial most probably).
An improving or falling WBC count implies improvement of clearing of infection.
There is nothing to worry.
You can follow up the WBC count after a month or so.
