What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

Question: I have a family history of stroke and my MPV count was 11.6 on my last blood test. Should I just keep an eye on this or is there any cause for concern? Everything else was normal - white, red blood cell and platelet count, etc..
Brief Answer:
Marginally raised MPV value doesn't have any clinical significance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Normal value of MPV in normal healthy adult is 7.5-11.5.
Your findings suggests marginally raised MPV(mean platelet volume)value and it is not concerning. MPV is an average size of platelet.
As rest of the count like RBC,WBC and platelet count are normal, there is nothing to be worried about.
