Posted on Thu, 19 Nov 2015
Question: Hi,
My lymphocyte count is 11% and eosinophil is 13%. Detailed report is attached. Is it normal?? Few days ago I was having fever (continuously for 3 to 4 days 100.+F) and leg muscles pain only and now I am having mild pain on my arms and legs if I am moving it. Just like it is felt after heavy exercise. sometimes feeling a bit like nausea also. while I relax and start to sleep I feel like very light vertigo. Just keeping all the points even if it is minor.

Brief Answer:
Report suggestive of allergy or fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

I have seen your reports and read your query thoroughly.

It seems that you have had fever and pain in some body parts. For this you are taking medicines including an antibiotic for 5 days. All your current symptoms are suggestive of ongoing infection. Nausea and vertigo can also be due to side effects of medicines.

Your reports are not suggestive of bacterial infection. It is more suggestive of either allergy or a fungal or parasitic infection. Though I donot know the date the test was done.

Having said that in my opinion you can discontinue your medicines from today. Wait and watch your symptoms for 3-5 days. I think the symptoms will improve after stopping drugs. The eosinophil count will also come down. If t does not then take medicines for worm infection. No other medicine needs to be taken if there are no symptoms. Drink cleanest water.

Hope it helps. Let me know if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
Prolonged cough could be fungal in nature

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

The prolonged cough that you are having can be due to fungal overgrowth. Fungal overgrowth happens after taking antibiotics (which you may have taken in past). It is usually associated with diarhea as well. Bacteria usually grow on top of it and is called bacterial superinfection. This is a very very common condition and nothing to worry about. It does not affect your health.

In such case, antibiotics provide symptomatic relief while the actual problem is still there. Presence of such infection can also cause recurrent coughing and some constriction of airways. In my opinion if you start the patient on anti-fungal treatment, the treatment is required lifelong and with serious side effects. Such cases should better be managed with cough syrups to be used occasionally to relieve the airway constriction.

I think by chest lumps you mean breast. The left breast may be painful due to fibrocystic changes in it. A mammogram would be able to confirm it. If confirmed, a surgeon will be able to best help by removing the fluid. Taking pain killers like ibuprofen, restricting coffee, tea and salt should help.

Keeping in view that you may have fungal overgrowth and immunity is little low, you will benefit by taking precautions to avoid infections. Also drinking cleaner water from RO system will help. It will keep you away from this infections.
