Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. As per labs mentioned by you, she is having diabetes. Now there are two possibilities. If there was no previous history of diabetes then this type is called gestational diabetes while in other case its Diabetes Mellitus. I would suggest you to take her to a gynecologist who will investigate it by performing some labs including urine protein levels. Further management will be given after going through investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!

hello

You are welcome. I'm available 24/7 for your assistance.

Yes you are right. It does start later in pregnancy but if there is no previous history then it is also labelled as gestational diabetes. In most cases it does not effects pregnancy but there are certain aspects that needs to be taken care off. Most important thing is to maintain blood sugar levels within limits. If levels remain high for longer period then it can effect developing fetus as well. So i would suggest you to keep regular and close followup with her treating gynecologist. At the same time also keep a regular record of blood sugar level and hopefully this pregnancy will go smoothly till term.

Thank You
