Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not related to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sboyat,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your query and understand the concern you are worried about.

HIV can be transmitted through cracked feet when large amount of HIV infected blood comes in its contact but you are not aware about the status of blood and it is also dried up then the risk is remote.

HIV Duos test is highly reliable after 16 days but not conclusive. You have to wait for 3 months to get 100% conclusive result as per international HIV guidelines. But if HIV Duos test is negative then the risk is of getting the infection is very very less.

Your symptoms are due to common seasonal viral infection not related to HIV. Consult physician and follow the treatment regime for the same. Do cold sponging for fever and take steam inhalation for nasal congestion. Don't worry you will be fine soon

The risk in your case is very remote because the survival of HIV virus is very difficult in dried blood and it will die within seconds. Just calm down and move ahead in life happily. Get tested again after 3 months to get 100% conclusive result. If any doubt left you can get back to me any time.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
The survival of HIV virus is difficult outside the human body.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sboyat,

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

The survival of HIV virus is very difficult outside the human body or in an open environment and it will die within seconds so nothing to worry about.

The result of HIV Duos test is almost 90% reliable after 16 days because it detects both antigen and antibody that is why the risk is very remote for you.

It is just routine procedure to get tested again after 3 months to get 100% conclusive result to declare any one absolutely free from HIV so don't get very anxious or tensed and move on in life happily.
