What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: I had a CBC and my RBC is 2.97, Hemoglobin is 10.1, and Hematocrit is 30.6. I recently had a lung wedge resection, but my CBC numbers have been low before the lung surgery. None of my physicians ever mentioned the anemia. Are my numbers really low or within toleration.

Brief Answer:
Cause of anemia needs to be found out to treat it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
Hemoglobin (Hb) level of 10.1 is low for age and sex. RBC count and hematocrit are also low.
The lower limit for hemoglobin for your age and sex is 12 gm%.
I suggest you to get a peripheral blood smear examination to know the type of anemia.
The anemia needs to be corrected once the cause of anemia is known.
Thanks and take care
