What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: My son went for a sonogram and blood work because he was bleeding from his rectum when he passes stool. He went to walk in dr. They found no hemmeroids. Did basic blood which came back ok. He went to gastro dr and he had a sonogram and blood test testing mostly for some kind of allergies to food. He had sonogram done last Wednesday. Blood was drawn Friday. If this was anything life threatening, would they have contacted him already. I'm worried!

Brief Answer:
No worries, supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. With normal work up, no hemorrhoids, no other focus on lower GI bleed, i think there is nothing to worry about. If the blood in stools continue, next step should be to evaluated for the cause of this bleeder in bowel via colonoscopy. More fiber in diet and more fluids will help. Ig any constipation, treat that supportively. Good bowel habits and early morning defecation after breakfast is desirable.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
