What Does My Follicular Test Report Indicate?
Question: Dear Doctor,
I am undergoing a Treatment for PCOD/Concieving & am on Tablets - Metformin & have taken Siphene for 5 days.
I have undergone a Follicular test on the 9th day & the report says -
"Right & Left Ovary - Multiple follicles measuring 5mm to 6mm"
"ET (mm) - 4mm.
Is the size normal & would there be a change of pregnancy this month if planned correctly.

Brief Answer:
It is too early to tell
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
1) Ideally there should be one large follicle of 10mm size and not multiple 5-6 mm follicles.
But it is too early to tell . Keep doing serial follicular studies and let me know.
ET should grow till 8-10 mm before you can get pregnant successfully.
SO my advise is to keep doing serial follicular studies and let me know as right now its looks OK but we have to see it grow over time till 14-16th day post menses.
Feel free to consult me directly

Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
No multiple follicles rare not normal . They are a sign of PCOD.
But that does not mean you can not get pregnant.
YES you can but you will need assisted reproduction like Siphene which you are taking already.
