What Does My Knee MRI Report Indicate?
Question: MRI for right knee done after positive Apley's test. Only thing found by radiologist was trace joint effusion. Should I be concerned still about my menisci and ask for a second opinion, or even referral to sport injury specialist?
Brief Answer:
QUADRICEPS EXCERCISES AND ANALGESICS ARE HELPFUL.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,
After going through your query I concluded that you have positive Apley's test. But MRI shows only trace joint effusion. I think you should not worry much as there can be minor meniscal injury without tear. You need not to worry much.
Treatment of this is quadriceps exercises and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief.
You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
