Question: Dear Sir,
One of my cousin has undergone ASD with pericardial patch in 2012, the 2D Echo and colour doppler study report (Jan-2016) has 'mild valvar pulmonary stenosis'. Kindly confirm if this is anything to worry or any medication is required.

Brief Answer:
report is good. relax.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
1. The primary diagnosis or diagnosis prior to surgery was ostium secundum ASD with mild pulmonary stenosis with an additional stenosis. As per report there is no residual shunt across the repaired septum .Hence there is no problem with the closed ASD.
2. The gradient across the pulmonary valve which was 40mmHg of mercury has now reduced to 20 mmHg, which is common phenomenon. Hence there is no pulmonic steonsis now. In fact there was no pulmonic stenosis; it was only a functional pulmonic stenosis as a result of increased flow due to ASD.
3. The biventricular function is good.
As per this report, she do not require any medications.
Feel free to discuss if there is anything else.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
