Brief Answer:
test HBA1C as well

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your query. I think I would be able to help you.

The fact remains that just one reading of sugars are not adequate to change therapy. It needs a prolonged charting of sugars to decide the same. I therefore recommend that you buy a glucometer and chart sugars regularly.

If you notice, her fasting sugars are higher than her PP sugars. This proves that her diet is irregular and a regular diet may help her more than the change of therapy.

I will however suggest increasing the tablet if the trend of sugars remains on the higher side ad it is now.

A better test to decide the need to change medicines would be to get a HBA1C tested. If this is higher, the need to change therapy will be definite.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
