What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?
Question: Dear Sir/Madam
LMP: 22.02.2015
EDD: 29.11.2015
GA(LMP) 20 Weeks 6 days
in may scan reports shows
All are normal. But welldefined, echogenic focus seen within the Left venticle.(This is a marker for chromosomal anomaly. Isolated, single marker carries less significance) No other gross congenital fetal anomalies could be made out in the major organ systems at present.
so it is any chance for downsyndrome of baby please explain.

Brief Answer:
Get your triple marker test.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I have gone through your history and report and it is showing single echogenic cardiac shadow which is sometimes a indicator of Down syndrome.
The chances of down syndrome are very low in your case because rest of the things normal in ultrasound scan but to be safer side ,she should go for triple marker test.
Amniocentasis is definitive procedures to find out chromosomal abnormalities but risk of miscarriage is there, so I would suggest you to go for triple marker test.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Her triple marker test results are normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
I have gone through your wife reports and here are the answers of your questions.
Her triple marker test results are normal showing lower risk for congenital anomaly.
She can continue her job because as such there is no problem associated with her pregnancy but she should avoid heavy work and overexertion.
She has to take healthy and balanced diet which is rich in fruits and vegetables.
She should take high protein diet.
A single cardiac echogenic shadow is due to calcium deposit and due to muscle groups and usually present after birth and not causing any problem and disappear after 5 yrs.of age.
It is most probably not related to dengue fever.
So do not take any stress and enjoy her happy and safe motherhood.
Hope it is useful,if you have no further questions and wants to close the discussion please accept my answer if found useful.
Good luck.
