Question: I just had a liquid based cytology smear test and although final conclusion says that no abnormal cellular features were identified the results says the following:- squamous superficial cells present, squamous parabasal cells absent, squamous metaplasia present, endocervical cells present, dyskaryosis not identified, kilobytes not identified, electrocuted absent, neutrophils present, dyskeratosis absent. Brief Answer:
normal report

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This is a completely normal pap smear liquid cytology report where squamous metaplasia is common and seen in all sexually active women or who may have cervicitis or cervical erosions.
The report is free from any cervical cancer dysplastic cells and hence you need not be worried. This is a normal report.
