Brief Answer:
VDRL is a screening test only...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

VDRL test is used as a tool to screen syphillis. It lacks sensitivity and therefore there are good amount of false positives. The result was positive with a dilution of 1:2; it indicates that the amount of antibodies reacting with the test sample to produce positive reaction is low. Your doctor will order for confirmation tests like fluoroscent treponemal antibody absorption test (FTA).

Until the confirmatory test result is announced, I think you shouldn't be bothered a lot.
