Brief Answer:
Prediabetes - borderline fasting sugar. Treat anemia.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.
Hgb is low.
HbA1c is ok
Fasting glucose is slightly higher.
With those levels means that you are in the prediabetes range, and that is why your doctor needs to check it once in a while.
I would recommend that you treat the anemia. First make sure it is Iron deficiency anemia by checking the levels of Ferritin in your blood. If it is low then you need to take Iron for at least 3 months to cure the anemia.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.

Have had slightly low hemoglobin and RBC for many years. Further testing for B12,folate,MCV, MCH, etc all normal range. Ferritin slightly high. No call from doctor..so I assume she is not concerned...I don't have any symptoms, I.e.fatigue so is this really anemia? Or just who I am?
Brief Answer:
Possible Thalassemia minor
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up question.
The information you gave me clarifies a lot.
It is still anemia, but not the Iron deficiency one.
Have you ever considered doing the Hemoglobin electrophoresis? The blood work is typical of Thalassemia minor, which is a congenital problem. Once diagnosed that, you don't need to take a treatment or do anything in particular. Just let your children know about it (if you have) so they make sure to diagnose their children.
Hope this makes sense.
Kind Regards,
