I've gone through your query and understand your concern.

Well first of all let me assure you by saying that blood in urine, be it 3-5 or 0-2 carries no significance in a healthy adult..

So please let me know what was the reason for undergoing urine analysis in the first place..

Since when are you having this problem ?

Any other medical condition ?

Are you on any kind of blood thinner / any medication for any specific reason ?

Did you have any past history related to urinary tract and / kidney?

Please provide these answers so that I can guide you in a better way..

Meanwhile please maintain a good hydration by drinking a lot of water..

As for your query , 0-2 RBC is of negligible or of no value , however given your history and other details, it just might carry some importance. So let me know further..

My husband went to the emergency room because his right testicle was aching. The physician performed an ultasound and examined my husband. The ultrasound and testicular exam were both normal. They also completed blood work which was all normal. The also completed a urinalysis and that was when they detected the 3-5 blood cells. I should also mention that his PSA test was also normal.

No kidney or urinary tract issues. No blood thinners. Occasional use of ibuprofen...not very often.

No other medical conditions.

Appreciate your concern in this regard, however from your description it doesn't seem to be anything concerning so please relax..

55 is the cornerstone age for BPE so it's always good to have a baseline report of PSA( which is normal) so he simply needs to be screened annually ..

Since all the routine investigations were normal , there's just a few more test to confirm if there was any underlying Prostatitis or Epididymo-orchitis which are CRP , Prostatic secretion for culture and sensitivity (cause they won't show up in routine microscopy examination) for further evaluation of the ache of the Right testicle.

Please avoid Ibuprofen for any purpose cause it's adverse effects outweigh the benefits (can try simple PARACETAMOL -if it's absolutely necessary, 650 mg after food to a maximum of 4 doses in a day, 6 hrs apart).

Rest assured, he seems fine and if you really feel like getting him tested again , then test after at least 14 days from the last one(unless any other problems) and also remember to always get the morning's first urine sample and make sure that it's the mid-stream..

In the meanwhile, just be vigilant for any other symptoms (fever/burning pain during urination / pain abdomen / any discoloration of urine), and ensure that he drinks a lot of water (3-4 Ltr a day) ..
