What Does My Semen Analysis Report Indicate?
I am 35 year male, I have done Semen Analysis today and results are:
Volume = 2ml, Sperm Count = 32.9 mil/ml, Normal = 11%, Abnormal = 89%, Total Motility = 16%, Progressive = 11%, Non-Progressive = 5%, Immotile = 84%. Impression = ASTENOZOOSPERMIA.
I had done Semen Analysis 2 years back in August 2008 and results were:
Volume = 2.5 ml, Sperm Count = 42.5 mil/ml, Normal = 10%, Abnormal = 90%, Total Motility = 65%, Progressive = 59%, Non-Progressive = 6%, Immotile = 35%. Impression = NORMOZOOSPERMIA.
I was suffering from hyper-acidity from two years and i was taking PANTOCID 40mg (twice daily). Is that a cause for my sperm motility gone down drastically? Now i completely stopped taking PANTOCID from past two months.
This time my doctor ask me to take herbal tablets REJUSPERMIN (2 times a day). Should I start any other medications like Firtyl m and paternia ? Dose ?Any other supplements like calcium, Vitamin D , B12, etc..?
Please guide me how to increase the sperm motility.
Please please help me.
Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts and semen analysis report that you have posted it appears that you have Asthanozoospermia meaning there by the percentage of motile sperms is below the range accepted by W.H.Standards .
Truly speaking there are no medicine invented so far that will increase the percentage of motile sperms .There are so many medicines sold in market but none of these medicines have proved scientifically to establish their claim to improve sperm motility .
However following measure will help you to improve motility of sperms .
1) Practice regular exercise for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the morning.
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3) Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday..
4) Avoid alcohol and smoking.
You may take medicines prescribed by your Physician with the hope to get results ..
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you so much for your quick reply.
You didn't answer my question, what would be the cause for the drastic down in the motility count?
Fertyl M contains Clomiphene, will not help improve sperm?
Paternia contains various antioxidants, will not help improve sperm?
1) I practice yoga for 1 hour in the morning 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM and walk 3 kms in the evening.
2) Is there a single tablets contains Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc ? Please advice.
I drink pomegranate juice everyday post breakfast. Eat lot of Vegetable salad and fruits.
3) From past 1 month I am eating 5 almonds early morning everyday. Twice I drink Green Tea.
4) I never smoke and drink. alcohol.
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
As I have stated in my earlier reply the precise cause of Asthanospermia has not been found in spite of extensive research in field of infertility hence there is no definite treatment that can be implemented .
As regards your query about fall in motility count I would say that it is never constant and varies from lab to lab and many factors like time of collection of semen.,period of abstinence etc .
As regards taking various drugs that you have asked for the fundamental basic action of these drugs is that they act as anti oxidants which can be achieved by taking Almonds that you are already taking .
You need to consult your family Physician for prescription of single drug containing various Vitamins and Zinc.
Clomiphene does help to sperm count but not motility .You can have trial of it for 3 months .
With general principles that I have suggested I am sure that there will be improvement in sperm motility after 6 months of religious follow up..
Thanks and Regards.
