Question: Hello doctor, I am a married man for one year and we are happily having intercourse. We are planning to have a baby and so I did a semen analysis for myself last day. Since I do not know how to interpret this lab report - I kindly request you to do the same and please advise on how to improve things better. So the following is the report details - Volume - 1.5ml Colour - Greyish White Odour - Musty Viscosity - Normal Liquification time - 25 Minutes Fructose - Present Ph - 8.5 Total Spermatoza count - 75 million/ml Motility : A.Motile: 60% S.Motile: 30% N.Motile: 10% Other Observations: Occassionally pus cells, few epi cells seen in hpf Microsperms, rough head & neck abnormals and giant sperms Please advise me on how to take this further - whether I am fertile and can become a dad please. Thank You, Warm Regards, XXXX

Brief Answer: Looks normal Detailed Answer: Hi, It does not look like you have a major problem As per your report. The concentration and motility look perfectly adequate. I suggest you try for the next one year but if things do not work you might need more intensive examination. You do not need any treatment with medication right now. Hope your wife had also been examined by a good gynaecologist. Best wishes for a happy parenthood and if you need any help, please let me know.
