My son is almost five years and is not having any fever. Also, their is no burning sensation but recently we have observed that he is urinating quite frequently (within seconds in form of few drops). Except urinating in forms of droplets their is no other symptom.

Brief Answer:
This is strangury.... not urinary infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX.... This is not urinary tract infection (UTI). This is called strangury. I will suggest a simple solution for it...
1st give him a glass of sugar water (add atleast 5 spoons of sugar). Then ask him to drink 3-4 more glasses if plain water and put him to bed. He will be alright by tomorrow morning by the time he gets up.

Can you please explain strangury.... is it something serious ?
On google it says that it involves pain also but my child has no pain only he has been doing urine frequently in form of droplets that to whenever he is idle.
Considering it will be very difficult to make him drink five glasses can we reduce the amount of water which you have suggested

Brief Answer:
Concentrated urine causes strangury
Detailed Answer:
Hi...please don't worry.... It is not at all serious. It occurs when the kid consumes less water than needed and the urine becomes concentrated. The urine will turn yellowish and comes out only drop by drop. It need not always be painful.
Yes you can decrease the amount of water. It was just a suggestion. He can drink as much as he likes. The logic is that he should pass good amount of urine when he gets up so that the concentration of urine is reduced.
