What Does My Stress Test Report Indicate?
I have few questions regarding my Congenital heart defect. I was born with Single Ventricle and had only PA banding done and not suitable for Fontan due to high PA pressure. I have no symptoms now of any sort and healthy and fit. My recent stress test showed my exercise tolerance is greater than 10 METs (had the endurance to run for more time on treadmill but was stopped by doctor as he was only looking for 10 METs). My echo confirmed as good ventricular function with acceptable gradients across valves.
I am only on medical management. I take Listril 5mg and Ecosprine 75 daily and on a normal regular diet with no restrictions.
Will there be any complications for sure that I will have to face due to my CHD or is it possible to survive the way I am now with no symptoms at all?
If it is possible to live without any symptoms in the future, what precautions should i be taking?
Also, I have a girlfriend and now i am in a dilemma whether i can marry her and give her a quality life? Can you please provide me suggestions if I can marry and live a quality life?
Thank you
You can live an absolutely normal life, Regular follow up is needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for choosing this platform
I have gone through the query and have also seen the reports.
Your stress test report is fantastic and this indicates that long term risk of cardiac ischaemia is very less.
Although the echo report is of 2003 but good thing is that the morphology of ventricle is left ventricle and cardiac contractility was good.
The raised pulmonary pressure was managed well with pulmonary banding. Increased pulmonary pressure, poor cardiac contractility and arrhythmia are the major complications and in your case everything seems to be fine.
After fontan surgery patient has to live on single ventricle and even in normal human being it is left ventricle which is the active one.
Here as per the report of stress test I can assure you that you can live normal healthy life.
Continue listril and ecosprin as advised.
I suggest you to get a repeat echo test done after consulting your cardiologist. Be in regular follow up of your cardiologist.
All the best.
Regards
I have attached the recent echo report provided by my cardiologist couple of weeks ago, however it only states the summary of my present condition also have attached my December 2016 follow up reports.
Also, can you please suggest me precautions that j need to take or diet to follow to avoid any other symptoms?
Thank you again
