What Does My Thyroid Test Report Indicate?
Thyroid
Detailed Answer:
I follow your question. These laboratory results should not be ignored. They are indicative of a condition called Hyperthyroidism i.e. an over active thyroid state.
Now I understand you are not on any medication. If that is the case then you could not have taken a higher-than-necessary dose of thyroid medication like synthroid or any other brand name of XXXXXXX thyroxine inadvertently.
So then further evaluation is necessary.
When I see someone like you I order the following tests in addition to a thorough physical examination:
CBC
ESR
CMP
Radio active Iodine 123 Uptake and Scan
These tests will help us determine what is the cause of this abnormal thyroid lab result. For example, it will give us a fair idea whether this current thyroid overactivity is due to temporary bruising of the thyroid (called 'Thyroiditis', which often recovers on it's own within several weeks) or due to other causes that tend to last longer and require more prolonged treatment.
