yes surgery will be required
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I went through the report.
Seeing the report that there are multiple calculi in the lumen, surgery to remove the gall bladder will be required.
Usually these stones will move further down with time and may get lodged in pancreatic duct where they get blocked as the lumen is narrow in pancreas and cause obstruction in bile flow resulting in obstructive jaundice.
Then all features of jaundice are seen and patient has pain in stomach. Then we should do ERCP and stenting and when patient settles then we usually perform the surgery to remove gall bladder.
As currently the stones are still in lumen and all other structures are essentially normal, its better you undergo the surgery now only and get rid of it rather than waiting for long for complications to occur and then managing.
So even I would advise that she should undergo elective surgery for the same. Also age is 60+, so better to get it done when she is in stable condition now.
I hope I have answered your query well.
if you have any questions kindly ask me back.
Thank you
