What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Ultrasound at 22 weeks showed bowed femur. But is only in one leg. Is this anything to worry about? I have had non invasive prenatal testing done and has came back Normal for trisomy 21,18 and 13.
Brief Answer:
Could be skeletal dysplasia

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The finding is indeed a cause for concern. I understand the dismal paradoxical situation that you are in. Fetal limb bowing may be a feature of skeletal dysplasia, particularly if it is severe. A mild degree of lateral bowing to femur can occur as part of normal variation. However it is a non-specific sign and needs follow up.
