What Does My Urinalysis Result Report Indicate?

Question: Hi,
My husband a 33 y/o otherwise healthy male did a urinalysis last week. The following results were troublesome: protein 1 g/l; Protein to Creatinine Ratio 0.51 g/L (normal <0.15); Albumin to Creatinine Ratio mg/mmol (normal 2.0). His albumin is 401 mg/L; his creatinine is within normal range at 6.8 mmol/L (range is 3.5-24.5). Urine PH was 6. eGFR was 108.
He is not diabetic or have heart disease. His microbiology is clear. Doctor is sending him for a kidney ultrasound. He won't be able to see his doctor until about for a few weeks.
Can you shed any light on the above test results?

Brief Answer:
There is some protein in urine
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
the reports show that he has mild proteinuria of around 500 mg per day. this may be a sign of early kidney disease.
overall the kidney functions are normal.
it is important to get an ultrasound for kidney size and urine routine to detect any blood in urine.
i dont think there is any need to worry.
urine protein can occur by lot of other causes.
excessive excercise , high protien diet also produce proteinuria. i would sugest him to cut down on meat or stop at least red meat in diet. this will help in reducing the protein in urine.
best wishes
