Question: My urine analysis showed WBC 11-30 and headline casts present but doctor did not prescribe medication. Is this okay?

I have seen the attached report.
Here, I see that the blood WBC levels are normal and urine WBC 11-30 with esterase positive. In such cases antibiotics are advised only If you are symptomatic.Symptoms pertaining to urine tract infection are considered. If the blood WBC is high, then antibiotics will be advised irrespective of your symptoms.
Urine WBC number is not a reliable indicator when taken alone. Hence, decision on treatment should be taken considering the total WBC count in the blood into account.
