What Does My Vaginal Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Question: I thought I was 8 weeks pregnant last period was 28th January 2017. I have no bleeding no pain or anything. I booked an early baby ultrasound scan and the sac is empty. I am really upset. I am overweight and just had abdominal ultrasound. I was told to drink water but the water hasnt filtered through as they scanned me 30 minutes after drinking it can that interfere.with the results? Whenever I have had a scan for anything else it has always been vaginal ultrasound cos of me being overweight. Please help me

I have read your question and see your report carefully and I understand your concern.

Firstly you doesn't need to worry because it is normal to see a gestational sac with yolk sac with trans-abdominal scan while you are overweight and/or because you may have conceived two weeks later (it means that you may be 6 weeks ),as happen at many women.

Hence you should be calm and wait another week for other scan to see fetal pole and fetal heart beats .

I had scan with empty bladder would this hinder things as I weigh 17stone 10 pound with a high bmi 46 would i be better internal. I am so scared I have lost my baby its the worse thing I could of done was book an early scan. I am ever so upset isnt my sac too large?

If gestational sac is regular and yolk sac is visible than is normal for a 5-6 weeks gestational age .

But if gestational sac is irregular than there are much more chances to have a miscarriage .
