What Does My Widal Test Report Indicate?
Suggests recent or past infection
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
You need to understand that widal test is a non specific test for typhoid fever. It's an antibody response to Typhoid bacilli, so if a person gets typhoid infection, this Widal test gets positive and remains positive for many months.
So, only rising titres of widal are important and in case a person has ongoing fever, then antibiotics are given to treat it.
If you have been previously treated for typhoid and you are asymptomatic, this test has no importance.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
