Hot Feeling In Whole Body After A Nap, Feel Feverish. Is It Normal?

Whenever I wake up from naps (and usually only naps) I wake up feeling like I ve got an awful fever . My first instinct is to drink water, so I usually end up drinking something before it ever occurs to me that I should actually check my temperature. My entire face will be hot and my legs and skin will feel like they are on fire. It doesn t matter if I sleep in pajama pants or shorts or with a thin blanket, it always happens after a nap and it takes me about 20-30 minutes to cool down. Any idea what this could be? It seems like I ve only started doing this in the past year or two.

Welcome to HCM.

Drinking a glassful of water after waking up from a sleep is a very healthy habit. Your symptom indicates that you are not adequately hydrating yourself. Drink 1-2 L of water in 24 hours, it will help to flush out any type of toxicity from your body system. Take fruits, berries, soups and juice along with your normal diet.

Feeling thirsty is also indicative of high sugar level in the blood, have fitness tests done to ensure you do not have any developing diabetes. Low grade fever can be due to developing typhoid infection. Typhoid generally shows step-ladder rise of body temperature, get blood cultures done to rule out typhoid bacilli or any other pathology in your blood.

You have not mentioned your past history, low grade fever can result as a side effect of any medicine you have been taking or due to addictions.

Take analgesics and vitamin B and E tablets for relief. Consult a doctor get clinically examined and diagnosed so that treatment can be started as early as possible. Take care.
