What Does Persistent Chest Pain And Normal EKG Results Indicate?
the pain is so severe it wakes me up, the pain in the chest is crushing--I have a difficult time moving to sit up or roll over to get out of bed. I've had EKG, stress stress and all things came back fine. My regular doctor can't find anything and sent to me a cardiologist who spent no time with me only did an EKG.
I've gone to the ER and nothing was diagnosed--did the whole prilosec thing to as suggested by dr. with no improvement
Possibly Fibromyalgia
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query.
I feel the symptoms mentioned in the query with the negative tests are highly suggestive of a condition called fibromyalgia. Its very common in middle aged females who develop this as the hormonal changes reappear and affect teh nerve and muscles alike.
The issue is that no pain killer or muscle relaxant is going to help you. If anything, they will help to cause kidney damage.
The best therapy for this is yoga. It actually manages to drive this syndrome away within months of starting a proper yoga.
However, I understand that this is not always possible for everyone. I therefore suggest trying to get a prescription of amitryptiline and vitamin D supplementation. The former is to soothe the nerves and the latter for the muscles.
I hope that the information helps.

Best of luck.
