What Does Persistent Fever Indicate Despite Administering Antibiotics Injections?
Question: sir, My father is suffering from fever for more than 8 days. 3 days before I have shifted him from NTPC hospital in XXXXXXX to Appllo hospital, XXXXXXX He is in continuous fever. Every time he is given Parasitology and antibiotics through injection but it is not getting any better. I also have his report.Please see and suggest something. Today he will have ultrasound.

Following investigations should also be done:-
1. HBsAg.
2. Antigen (Card) test for malaria.
3. Ultrasound of whole Abdomen.
Following information will be helpful:-
1. What is the pattern of fever- does it occur daily or at fixed interval of time?
2. Is the fever associated with chills and rigor ?
3. What is the colour of urine- is it dark yellow?
4. What is the colour of stool ?
5. Does stool pass daily ?
6. Has appetite decreased?
7. Range of temperature.
8. Was he taking any medicine previously for any disease ?
Hepatitis is a curable/treatable condition.
He should avoid oily and spicy foods.
Furthur medical management can be planned according to the clinical evaluation by your doctor and the reports of the above mentioned investigations along with the answer to the above mentioned queries.
