What Does Platelet Count Of 150000 Indicate?

my dad was suffering from fever and vomiting from 3 days. when we took him to hospital they said it was due to viral fever.. they performed blood test a day before and the platelet count was 150000 and today the platelet count is 154000.. though it is in the normal range.. it is towards the lower end.. kindly advice if I need to visit hospital again.

Get repeat platelet count after 2 days when fever subsides . If it is same or increased then well and good . If reduced then you need to search a different cause other then fever for low platelet by visiting hospital. 154000 platelet is considered normal if your dad don't have any bleeding problem.
Viral fever is likely to reduce platelet count sometimes which will become normal after subsiding of fever.
