What Does Positive Pregnancy Test After Unprotected Sex Indicate?

Question: I had my period on March 10th, had unprotected sex every weekend after, with the last encounter being march 31rst. On that specific encounter he didnt orgasm, and I ended up taking the morning after pill 8 hrs later. Five days later on April 5th, I took an at home test ad came back positive. Just wondering what the chances are it was the March 31rst encounter. Also had an ultrasound on Friday the 18th, and they measured me at 5 weeks 4 days. Please explain.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
If you have regular cycles, going by your last menstrual period ( LMP ) on 10th of March, you would be 6 weeks pregnant as of now, and yes, the ultrasound on 18th of April is most accurate then.
The probability of conception is highest around the days of ovulation, which would typically be around the 24th of March, give or take 2- 3 days.
31st March is less likely to be the ovulatory period, again I am assuming you have regular cycles.
All the best

So you believe it wasn't the 31rst due to he didn't orgasm, took morning after pill 8 hrs later and how could I have a positive test just 5 days later.
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
I think 31st is less likely because ( in order of importance ) -
1. It was not mid cycle, least likely to be your ovulatory period.
2. Yes, you would not have a positive test just 5 days later.
3. If you had conceived on the 31st you would not measure 5 weeks and 4 days on the 18th
4. Yes, he did not ejaculate as you said and you took the morning after pill also very much in time.
