What Does Post Prandial Blood Sugar Level Of 370 Indicate?

Question: My blood sugar went 370 post prandial and 265 fasting first time ever i have been prescribed with instamet 50/1000 twice daily after just taking a second dose my blood sugar post prndial has come down to 211. pl advise

How long you are having diabetes?
How is your diabetic blood tests - HbA1C (3 month average blood sugars), kidney function tests and liver function tests?
Do you have any complications of diabetes (eye disease, heart disease, kidney disease or nerve disease) so far?

All I can tell you from the question posted is that your fasting and post prandial blood sugars are high. The target fasting sugar while on treatment should be less than 130 mg/dl and after food should be less than 180 mg/dl.

If you are a newly detected diabetic just started on medications, you can wait for the full effect of mediation. If not you should consult a diabetologist /Endocrinologist and adjust the medications.
