What Does Swelling In The Neck Of A Child Indicate?

Question: my 10 year old granddaughter has a swollen neck. been noticing it for a few weeks.

Hi, she really hasnt had any symtoms except last week she had alergies with a slight cough and voice was kind if hoarse. Thats about it. We have noticed this for about 2 weeks. Compared to her brother her neck is swollen. No pain....we are concerned. ..

Chances of thyroid swelling are more since child has hoarse voice but lymphadenopathy should also be ruled out by examination.

I suggest you to do thyroid levels in child.
