What Does Testosterone Level Of 140 Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 1 Jun 2017
Question: My testosterone level is at 140..........has been checked twice and the doc recommends replacement. My insurance has TWICE denied the topical application, I am assuming based on cost My doc now recommends injections BUT I hate to start something that has to be injected the rest of my life. He claims major heart problems can arise due to low testosterone, since the heart is a muscle. My question is, do you recommend this therapy, is it safe, and do the benefits out weigh the having to take injections the rest of my life. I am diabetic, though I now have my a1c down to 5.3, and am on high blood pressure meds also. Thanks so much. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
About low T treatment:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
For many men, treating the sexual symptoms of low T would be enough reason to start therapy. However, low testosterone influences a man's health well beyond the sexual symptoms.
Bringing it back up to normal can have a positive impact on a variety of crucial health markers.
It strengthens the bones preventing osteoporosis and lowers the fat mass improving the metabolic syndrome (lipid levels and diabetes).
Lower testosterone levels have been linked to higher risk of cardiovascular problems.
So, i think in your case it is worthy sacrificing with the injections ( once a month or once in 2 weeks).
Hope the information will help and will be a pleasure to answer further questions.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
