Brief Answer:
MRI findings suggests a large extra axial tumour(meningioma).

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Your MRI findings suggests a large extra axial tumour(meningioma) in posterior region of brain and you may need surgical removal if it is causing symptoms.
Meningioma is generally not a aggressive tumour. Its treatment is both, only follow up or surgery.
Asymptomatic lesions may only need follow up,whereas symptomatic may need surgical removal.
Surgery can be planned elective in your case.Your doctor has rightly suggested that it is not an emergency situation.
Radiotherpy may be needed in selected cases.
