What Does The Trisomy Result Indicate?
Question: I have undergone the dual Marker TEST and the report result says negative with Trisomy 21+NT is 1:640, Trisomy13/18+NT is 1:10000 and age risk is 1:347 but the Trisomy biochemical is 1:95 i am concerned what the significance of this biochemical 1:95 , as the doctor i am consulting also doesn't the significance of the same. If you could advice what is.
Brief Answer:
The three factors are considered together.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The risk of trisomy 21 based on biochemical analysis alone in your case is 1:95 but considering all the three markers - maternal age, nuchal translucency and biochemistry, the risk is considerably reduced. There is no considerable risk for fetal defects. So, you need not worry.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
