What Does The Bleeding After A Bowel Movement Indicate?
Question: I have been seeing blood in the toilet after a bowel movement...quite a bit. However, no pain and no external symptom like hemorroid
Brief Answer:
Considerations
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the query,
This could be bleeding from an internal hemorrhoid which might not cause pain.
Of course this is difficult to tell without a good physical examination. I think you should bring this to the attention of your doctor.
If you have not had a colonoscopy in the last 10 years it may be reasonable for you to see a GI doctor to have this done. We must rule out the small chance of colon cancer in your case.

Thank you. I will make an appointment with my physician. i have had a colonoscopy, but it has been 4 or 5 years ago.
If the bleeding is from an internal hemorrhoid, how long should it likely continue and is there any self treatment I can perform?

Brief Answer:
Followup
Detailed Answer:
You might try a suppository - this might help alleviate some of the inflammation.
Also - increase fiber in your diet to keep stools softer. You could take a daily fiber supplement as well such as FiberCon or metamucil.
I'm glad you will be seeing your doctor soon for further discussion.
Sincerely,
